What to Expect:

Cool water perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and swimming.
White sand perfect for picnicking, playing, or just relaxing in the sun.
Lush forest perfect for spotting wildlife of all shapes and descriptions.
Lots of fun with family and friends.
Village Creek is the perfect place for bird watchers and there's no place greener in the state of Texas.

Again: please come prepared for your trip.
Sunscreen, hats, water, and any necessity you may need for being out doors and on the water.


State Law:

Camping:

  • Children under 13 years of age in or on vessels under 26 feet must wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved wearable PFD while underway.
  • All vessels under 16 feet (including canoes and kayaks) must be equipped with one Type I, II, III or V for each person on board.
  • ALL of our PFDs are U.S. Coast Guard approved.
    *Glass and Styrofoam containers are prohibited by state law.
Camping is allowed on the Village Creek sandbars. You must obtain a free camping permit beforehand and may call the Big Thicket National Preserve at (409) 951-6700 for more information.

Camping facilities are also available at Village Creek State Park.
